  • The County of Los Angeles is the primary authority (the Lead Agency) for review and approval of the proposed project and environmental documents.
  • The City of Los Angeles has participated in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) as a Responsible Agency and will consider approvals for portions of the proposed project within its jurisdiction (the Ogden parking structure and the elevated part of the new building that crosses Wilshire Boulevard).
  • The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the EIR was released on August 4, 2016 and is available at the County Registrar’s office and through the County Registrar’s website.
  • A public Scoping Meeting for the Environmental Impact Report was held at LACMA on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, from 6 to 8 pm.
  • The Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) was released on October 26, 2017, and is available at the County Registrar's website. A 50-day public review period started upon the DEIR release.
  • The Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) was released on March 22, 2019, and is available at the County Registrar's website.
  • On April 9, 2019, the County Board of Supervisors certified the FEIR and approved the project.
  • On December 3, 2019, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved the Wilshire air space vacation request.
  • On April 26, 2022, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to finalize the Wilshire air space vacation and approved the Resolution to Vacate the airspace above Wilshire Boulevard for the new building.
