Building Project Update
Over the last several months, we have been preparing for the start of construction of our Building for the Permanent Collection. As we embark on construction, this is recent progress and work being done on campus:
- Temporary museum facilities have been installed on the west campus in order to continue operations during construction.
- Temporary facilities for education and family programs as well as public bathrooms are being finalized north of Ray’s and will open to the public in the next week.
- Construction fencing and sound barriers are being completed along the construction perimeter to provide for public safety and within the EIR project site plan.
- Construction staging areas are being prepared inside the construction perimeter.
- Hazmat abatement and internal demolition are underway in the buildings to be replaced.
